How much does independent speech and language therapy cost?

The charge for sessions reflects the specialist nature of speech and language therapy.

The initial assessment cost will usually be the most expensive session of the therapy package – starting at £100 (for the first hour, £60 for additional hours). This includes taking a detailed case history, assessment and report for the patient and relevant health professionals.

The cost of sessions after the initial assessment will vary depending on the complexity of the client’s needs.  As a guide, an hour of therapy starts at £55 with the maximum cost being £70. Reviews and attending professional meetings to discuss the patient are £55 per hour with a report at the end of each review session/meeting where appropriate.

As patients will be seen in their own homes a cost for mileage may be added to the session fee. This charge will be discussed on an individual basis.
